Booking and scheduling software for post-production studios
Post-production scheduling usually goes wrong in two ways. Two jobs end up in the same suite, and at the end of the month nobody can say where the hours went. BookStudioNow can refuse a second booking in a room you mark as exclusive. And every person on a session gets its full length in their hours, so a shared mix day counts for both engineers.
Double bookings are refused
You decide per room. An exclusive mix suite won't accept an overlapping booking at all, whether someone drags it there, types a new time or uses the API. A shared edit bay can just warn instead, and overlapping sessions get a small flag on the calendar.
Warnings before you move a session
When you drag a session to a new time, you see straight away if the room is taken, if it's a public holiday, or if the engineer is off that day. Nothing is saved until you confirm. To change how long a session is, pull its bottom edge.
Hours you can trust
Each person's hours come straight from the bookings they're on. Set a monthly budget per person, and the reports show what's used, what's done and what's still planned. Room usage counts each session once, even when two people worked it.
Who can move what
Moving a session is its own permission. A freelancer can add their own sessions without being able to move a colleague's to another day. The server checks this every time.
Repeating work
A weekly grade or a daily QC pass is one repeating booking. Each occurrence can still be moved or cancelled on its own. “Book again” copies a session, with its room and people, to the same time next week.
Questions
- Can two bookings share a room?
- Only if you allow it. Each room is either exclusive, which refuses overlaps, or shared, which warns and flags them.
- How are hours counted when two engineers work one session?
- Each of them gets the full session in their own hours, because they were both there. Room usage counts the session once.
- Can I stop freelancers changing session times?
- Yes. The right to move sessions is set separately, per room and per person, and it applies to dragging too.
